betacrypt2®
The
betacrypt2®
conditional
access
system
consists
of
a
central
head end
device
and
of
latest encryption technology based, high-security grade smartcards.
The
betacrypt2®
conditional
access headend was developed from scratch focusing on the security
aspects and uses dedicated secured encryption hardware in order not to reveal
algorithms used. No plain keys are stored anywhere in the head end so security
is not compromised even in case of hardware theft. Used keys are changed on a
regular basis and downloaded to the
smart
cards without interrupt of service or
black screen at the consumer.
The
betacrypt2®
smart
card features latest anti-piracy countermeasures both in hardware and in
software including ECM/EMM envelope encryption or key ageing to prevent
replay-attacks. It already includes standby algorithms that can be activated in
case of compromise.
The
connection
between
scrambler
and
betacrypt2®
headend
utilises
TCP/IP
lines,
so
the
scramblers
can
be
located
at
different
geographical
locations.
The
operator
and
content
provider
controls
the
betacrypt2®
environment
by
connecting
a
customer
care
and
billing
system
to
the
SMS
interface
of
the
headend
device
of
betacrypt2®.
Since
the
betacrypt2®
SMS
interface
is
ASCII
and
TCP/IP
based,
the
integration
into
existing
customer
care
and
billing
solutions
can
easily
be
performed.
betacrypt2®
populations are highly flexible as the
smart
card embodies multiple
individually addressable identities which make complex multi-headend and even
multi-provider/sub-provider scenarios possible without the need for additional
smart
cards at the end-customer.
The
betacrypt2®
headend comes fully installed and supports a wide range of DVB
scrambler, multiplexer and IPTV hardware. Rock-solid Sun Solaris based software
together with 1:1 hot system and hardware redundancy with automatic failover
ensures 24/7 operation. Virtually no operator interaction is necessary to run
the system and monitoring is easy with
betacrypt2®’s system-status-at-a-glance
user interface. |
